ÖBB Taurus Locomotive
The ÖBB Taurus is a widely celebrated family of high-speed electric locomotives operated by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). Built by Siemens, the Taurus is famous across Europe for its immense power, top speeds of up to 230 km/h, and its distinct "singing" musical startup sound.
Developed from Siemens' EuroSprinter family, the Taurus fleet is divided into several multi-system and single-system variations that cross borders across Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Switzerland.
